AMENORRHEA (missing periods)
Amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation for at least three months.
With Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, you can restore regular cycles, promote hormonal balance, and enhance overall reproductive health.
Treatment for amenorrhea is best approached with the support of a patient-centered integrative care team, ideally including a primary care physician, gynecologist, naturopathic physician, and Chinese medicine physician. This collaborative approach enhances patient outcomes and promotes the restoration of a regular menstrual cycle.
TYPES OF AMENORRHEA:
Primary Amenorrhea: the absence of a period by age 15
Secondary Amenorrhea: when a woman who already menstruates
does not get her period for 3 months or morePost-Pill Amenorrhea: the absence of menstruation for 3 to 6 months after stopping oral contraceptives
IDEAL AMENORRHEA TREATMENT:
Treatment for amenorrhea varies for each individual patient and depends on the type and duration of absence of periods. Treatment duration typically ranges from 3 to 12 months of regular acupuncture and Chinese herbs focused on balancing hormones, improving blood circulation, promoting ovulation as well as treating any underlying condition.
